Junkiri means "Firefly" in Nepalese — and that is exactly the spirit behind everything we do. We are a UK-based fair trade brand selling handmade boho jewellery, hippie clothing, and artisan accessories, all crafted by skilled artisans and small family workshops in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. Founded by a Nepalese-Italian couple, Junkiri exists to share the beauty of Nepal's craft traditions with the world, and to give something real back to the people who make it all possible.
Every Junkiri piece is handmade by independent artisans and small family workshops based in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. We work with silversmiths, textile weavers, hemp craftspeople, and makers of traditional Tibetan and Nepalese accessories — people who carry generations of craft knowledge. We know them personally, we visit them, and we are proud to call them our collaborators.
Yes — always. Fair trade is not a label we use for marketing, it is how we actually operate. We pay our artisans directly and fairly, build long-term relationships with the workshops we work with, and aim to support a sustainable micro-economy in the Kathmandu Valley. Every purchase you make supports the makers behind it.
Our collection has a free-spirited boho and hippie aesthetic rooted in Nepalese and Tibetan craft traditions. We sell semi-precious stone jewellery (rings, bracelets, pendants), hippie clothing including Alibaba trousers and patchwork tops, yak wool scarves and shawls, cotton headbands, hemp bags, gloves, and Tibetan prayer flags. Everything is earthy, soulful, and beautifully imperfect.
