Braided from three separate metal strands — copper, brass, pewter — this bracelet gives the braiding technique a multi-tonal character. Where a single-metal braid is monochrome, the three-metal braid has depth: the orange of copper, the gold of brass, and the silver of pewter appearing and disappearing as the strands rotate through the twist.
 
A technically more demanding piece to make — maintaining the braid with three different metals requires more control than a single-metal piece. The craftspeople of Kathmandu do this without thinking, which is what mastery looks like.
