Made from sari fabric saved from the textile waste stream, this bunting celebrates what fabric can become when it gets a second life. Saris from Nepal and India — rich in colour, varied in texture, carrying the history of the person who wore them — are cut and strung into a bunting that is completely unlike anything made from new material.
Every panel is different. The colours run through the full spectrum of sari dye traditions: jewel tones, festival reds, deep indigos, gold and ochre, turquoise and rose. The variety is the point — this bunting cannot be designed because it depends entirely on which saris were available, and no two lengths will ever be the same.
Hang it across a garden, a living room, a bedroom, a festival stall. It works as outdoor bunting or indoor wall decoration — the sari fabric is already durable from its previous life. A piece of sustainable decoration that carries actual history in its threads rather than the simulation of it.
The most meaningful bunting you can buy, and one of the most genuinely unique pieces in the Junkiri collection. No two are identical. Sustainable, beautiful, made in Nepal.
